Scenes from our November 9th ArtWalk

Shop Velouria

A wet night and competitive parking didn't deter attendance at our ArtWalk event on Saturday!  Even with visiting friends and enthusiastic customers, we had some moments to chat with Frida & Angela about themselves - always our favorite part of ArtWalk!

Clockwise from upper left: Frida Clements models how her I Love the Ocean print works on a wall and on oneself. Angela Delarmente stocks us up on her fast selling line of Knuckle Kiss Jewelry. Frida has long been in high demand to illustrate rock show posters. Knuckle Kiss Jewelry isn't just for knuckles!

We learned that Angela took a bit of a boomerang path back to jewelry. While studying Industrial Design, Angela took a jewelry course which led her to design for a large scale jewelry manufacturer. She then took some time for a different passion and earned her MFA in creative writing. Angela now works as a freelance copywriter while also handcrafting her own line of jewelry in her home/studio on Capitol Hill.

Frida Clements started her career as a corporate graphic designer before she found her way back to the pencil and refining & establishing her trademark illustrative style. We learned that Frida's I Love the Ocean piece was inspired by her sailor father's love of the ocean, which she celebrates during the Summer when she travels to Scandinavia for family sailing trips. Sounds like an inspiring and deserved reward for this busy artist and mother of 2!

Thanks for the conversation, ArtWalk attendees! See you in December! (we can't believe it's almost December.)
