Last week, I was lucky enough to visit the studio of Tiffany Ju, creator of BZR ombré tights, to check out her dip-dying operation and discuss carrying these rad tights at Velouria. Since I couldn't take you all along, I thought I'd share some pics of the studio and a little bit about this new company!
Tiffany has only been in the tight-dying business since March 2012, but these awesome tights have been garnering attention with mentions in BUST magazine, the DesignSponge blog, Glamour Brazil, Elle France blog, The Martha Stewart Show, Seattle Magazine, and more in that time. She's also done some geographical maneuvering in that time, moving most recently from Atlanta and only getting her Seattle studio up-and-running this past month.
When Tiffany started her etsy shop last March, she was immediately unable to keep up with the demand. While she has had help along the way, at this point, she is the only person on production, dying by hand every single BZR tight produced. She has hired an office assistant, Arron, to manage the business side of things--which we're really thankful for: Arron's the one who found our shop in hopes of selling the tights locally! The duo complement each other well, it seems: Tiffany has a background in fashion, graduating from Parsons and working in graphic design, fashion illustration and marketing while Arron has years of retail experience to inform her and a penchant for all the administrative work that must be done at a desk (sigh, I need an Arron!).
I'm grateful to Tiffany and Arron for giving me the chance to stop by and chat for a bit, and for sending me a few extra photos to round out my studio shots. We're really excited to have BZR tights in our shop and on our legs in the next month or so! I'll leave ya with one last picture from their etsy shop...
