From the artist:
Connectivity/Connection is continuous and repetitive. It’s infinite and constant. Always producing and manifesting. Piling and collecting. A push. A pull. A fragmentation and a whole. And underneath lives a tension between the broken and the beauty. These works on paper attempt to speak to these notions and these truths. There is a search for the light and the hope and a seeking for the better in the together.
Raised in a vibrant domestic environment layered with decoration, artist Anna Redmond’s obsession with pattern began. After receiving a BFA in painting and printmaking from Kansas State University, Redmond moved to Seattle to earn her MFA in Fibers at the University of Washington. It was there that she explored pattern as a conceptual landscape and decorative tool. Working in large-scale installation work and diving deeper into a fascination with surface design. For the last 10 years Redmond has worked as a designer and artist with in the interior design world. Producing an array of products such as rugs, bedding, and wallpaper. Redmond’s devotion to surface transformation and painterly details drives her desire to design and create.
